After reading up on the AtheistForum, and reading some posts, I saw a story of a guy who was raised in a Christian home, went to church every week, and had a fundamentalist Christian father (I say Fundamentalist because I just assume so from the story, could be wrong), but at his teenage stage came to realize the flaws and contradictions of such a religion. Another noteworthy fact is that the author of the post is gay, but hasn't told his father.
It gives me hope that at such a young age, kids are starting to realize the ridiculousness of the Bible. I admit that he does have some good morals to go by (Not everything! Just a few bits here and there!) Love thy neighbor, don't hate others, the usual. But I see this story, and then hear about another story of parents just brainwashing their children to believe this book blindly! There was a Documentary done by Louis Theroux called "The Most Hated Family in America" and it was based off the Westboro Baptist Church (You may know this infamous cult from the protests they pull at the funerals of KIA soldiers) . Basically he was able to stay with them for a few weeks, and get to know how they lived their lives. It is one of the most hateful and disgusting things I have ever seen, and I'm surprised that Louis was able to keep a calm and level head when dealing with these baffoons.
Anyway, why I bring this up is you get to see the children of this Church (The Church itself being made up of a large family, and a couple of friends) spout hateful. vulgar nonsense, and when questioned, they don't know what it means. They're told to hold signs by their parents, and some are too young to read them. Sadly, they're legally in their rights to do these things because the kids are fed, and go to school.
